Members of Englewood Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana will tell their story of how the 125-year old congregation has found new life over the last 25 years- going from a dwindling mainline church to a vibrant neighborhood based congregation with a strong community development flavor.
The congregation credits learning much about being a "primary community" from BOTH those who have devoted themselves to the local church and those living in intentional community - and then mutually discerning those lessons for our context.
The presenters will invite workshop attendees to reflect upon the interplay of intentional christian community and local congregations (for better and for worse) in this complicated thing we call "church".
